Kaypakka Pachadi (Bitter gourd Yogurt curry)

1/2 cup kaypakka(bitter gourd) cut in small pieces
1 tbs mustard seeds
curry leaves
salt as required
3/4 cup yogurt
1 green chilli
1/4 cup coconut
1 whole red chilli
Coat the bitter guard pieces with little bit yogurt and salt and keep aside for 15 minutes to reduce the bitterness. Grind the coconut ,1/4 tsp mustard seeds,green chilli together.Heat 1 tbs oil in a pan and shallow fry the bitter gourd pieces till slightly brown in color.OR cook the bitter gourd pieces with water.Then add the ground coconut into the fried bitter gourd .To this add thick beaten yogurt and mix well. Splutter mustard seeds followed by whole red chilli,curry leaves,and coconut.Add this seasoning to the pachadi and mix well.Serve with rice.
