Gulab Jamun With Homemade Khoya

Ingredients
  • 1 cup Homemade Khoya/Mawa, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/8 tsp baking soda
  • 2 cups water 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 to 5 saffron strands
  • oil for frying

Directions


Combine mawa, flour and baking soda. Sprinkle a little water or milk to form a
smooth dough. Divide the dough into equal sized balls and make smooth  balls out of it, set aside.

Making Khoya at home is so easy, but  bit time consuming process .On this Diwali I decided to make some sweets with fresh homemade khoya instead of store bought one. This was my 1st attempt. Don't try if you are multitasking in kitchen , need some time and patience to get the right consistency.
