Beetroot Halwa / Beet Halwa
Ingredients
- 2 Cups Grated beetroots
- 1/2 Cup Milk
- 1/2 Cup Sugar
- 2 tbs Ghee (clarified butter)
- 1/4 tsp Cardamom Powder
- 1 tbs Chopped Cashew nuts
- raisins to garnish
Directions
Pressure cook beetroots with milk up to 1 or 2 whistles. In a heavy bottomed pan warm up sugar and ghee
(clarified butter). Add cooked beets with all the remaining liquid. Keep heating at medium and stir until
the moisture is evaporated and dry. Heat the ghee in a small pan and fry the cashew nuts and raisin and add it to the halwa with cardamom powder.
