Spicy Shrimp Masala /Chemmeen Varattiyathu
Ingredients
- shrimp, 10 pieces
- 1 tbs ginger, chopped
- 3 garlic pods, chopped
- 3 to 5 shallots, choped
- 2 to 4 green chillies, chopped
- 1 tsp chilli powder
- curry leaves, a few
- 2 tsp fish masala(optional)
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 fresh tomatoes, chopped
- salt as needed
- 1 tbs coconut oil
- fresh lemon juice, few drops
Directions
Marinate the prawns with little bit of chilli powder, salt and lemon juice. Keep aside for 15 minutes.
Crush ginger, garlic, green chillies and shallots. keep aside. Heat 1 tbs oil in a pan, add crushed mixture and curry leaves. Saute till raw smell goes. To this add chopped tomatoes, chilli powder, turmeric powder, fish masala and salt. Cook till tomatoes are soft. Add marinated prawns and cook on low flame for 10 to 15 minutes. Garnish with curry leaves and coriander leaves. Sprinkle fresh lemon juice and serve with rice.
