Oatmeal With Cinnamon Apple Sauce | Homemade Baby Foods

Homemade Oatmeal Cinnamon Applesauce

I have been thinking about  posting some Homemade baby food recipes for a while. With a crawling baby i am not getting enough time to write a detailed post. My baby doesn't take formula, so i had to start solid foods at 5 months, started with oatmeal and rice cereal. After  6 month i tried giving Gerber foods, but i didn't get luck there either. She hates Gerber foods, tried different brands, nothing worked. Good thing, she loves homemade baby foods. So i started making almost all baby foods at home. Today i am sharing her favorite Oatmeal Cinnamon Applesauce recipe. Stay tuned for more baby food recipes.

Ingredients
  • 1 or 2 sweet and juicy apples
  • 1 tsp brown sugar , i used jaggeri
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 tbs cooked oatmeal or oatmeal baby cereal
  • 1/2 cup water

Directions

In a saucepan combine all the ingredients except oatmeal and brings to boil. Cover and cook over medium
heat for 15 to 20 minutes or until apples are soft. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Remove cinnamon sticks and mash the apples with potato masher or hand blender. Add cooked oatmeal and mix well.If you are using store bought oatmeal cereal mix in formula or baby water before adding to applesauce.
