Green Tomato stir Fry / pacha thakkali thoran
These green tomatoes are from my friend Deepa's garden.Thanks for sending them, they tasted awesome. So here is an easy and healthy side dish with freshly picked green tomatoes.
Ingredients
- 2 to 4 green tomatoes, chopped
- 1/4 cup shallots, sliced
- 2 tbs freshly grated coconut
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp chilli powder
- curry leaves ,few
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 1/2 tsp rosted cumin powder
- salt, as needed
- 1 tbs coconut oil
Directions
Combine tomatoes, shallots, turmeric powder, chilli powder and salt. Heat 1 tbs coconut oil in a pan, splutter mustard seeds and curry leaves. Add green tomato mixture, cook covered on low flame for about 5 to 10 minutes. Add grated coconuts and roasted cumin powder on top and serve as side dish with rice, roti etc
