Basic Mac n Cheese Recipe / Baked Macaroni and Cheese
- 8 ounces elbow macaroni
- 2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- salt and pepper, to taste
Preheat oven to 350 degrees f. In a large pot of salted water boil macaroni until half cooked, about 5 minutes, drain. In a saucepan add half cooked macaroni along with milk..Once the milk boils add the shredded cheddar cheese and half of bread crumbs. Cook over low heat until cheese is melted and the sauce is thick. Season with salt and black pepper. Pour this mac n cheese onto a baking dish, sprinkle rest of bread crumbs and more cheese, bake for about 15 to 20 minutes.
