French Toast With Homemade Panettone

Panettone , this sweet Italian fruit bread makes an excellent french toast for breakfast or brunch.

  • 4 to 6 slices of thick Panettone bread
  •  1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • salt, to taste
  • maple syrup and butter to serve

    Beat together egg, milk, salt, vanilla and spices. Heat a skillet or griddle coated with a thin layer of
butter. Dip each slice of bread in egg milk mixture, soaking both sides. Transfer the bread slices to a griddle or skillet and cook on both sides until golden. Serve hot with maple syrup, butter and fresh fruits...

  4. Did you join the Daring Bakers too? Guess what, I only made panettone few days ago ( for Daring Baker challenge)but unfortunately all is gone! next time will make them in batches so I can make this recipe too:-)
