Valentine Pastry Heart 

Happy valentines day every one. Right now we have 18  inches of snow outside ,  so on this special day we are stuck at home . Not in a mood to bake or cook, so made a simple Nutella  pastry with leftover dough. Perfect treat for kids who love Nutella.


  • 1 cup all- purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 tsp sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 cup chilled butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream or buttermilk
  • Nutella or jam for filling

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Combine flour, salt, baking powder and sugar. Cut in cold butter using
pastry blender or food processor until it resembles bread crumbs.Add the buttermilk and knead slightly until it forms a dough. Turn the dough onto a floured work surface , roll it and cut hearts out of it. Place on the prepared baking sheet and bake for about 15 to 20 minutes until golden .Let it cool , cut in half and fill with Nutella or jam.
