Pineapple Pulissery | Pineapple Yogurt Curry

Pineapple Puliseery/ Pineapple Curry

Ingredients
  • 1 cup chopped pineapple
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 cup yogurt

 To grind
  • 1 cup grated coconut
  •  1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 green chillis
  • few whole black pepper
To Garnish

  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 shallots, sliced (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp roasted fenugreek powder
  • curry leaves, few
  • 2 dry red chillis
  • 2 tsp coconut oil

Directions


    Cook pineapple pieces in water adding  turmeric and salt. To this add ground coconut paste. Cook for few more minutes, turn off the heat.  Add beaten yogurt, adjust salt. Heat coconut oil in a pan, splutter mustard seeds followed by cumin seeds, red chillis, shallots and  curry leaves. Pour this into the pineapple curry, sprinkle roasted fenugreek powder on top. Serve with rice.

  2. I hae eaten pineapples in dum aloo curry but apart from that I never imagined pineapples could be used in a curry.
