- 1 cup unsalted butter or veg shortening
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 tsp cream of tartar
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 3/4 cup flour
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground nutmeg
- 4 tbs sugar
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. In the bowl of an electric mixer
cream shortening, sugar and eggs until smooth. Add sifted flour,
cream of tartar, baking soda, salt and nutmeg. Work these ingredients
until they make a dough. Drop mounds from a teaspoon onto a
greased cookie sheet, leaving 1 inch space between each cookie.
Mix 2 tablespoons sugar with cinnamon. Sprinkle sugar on top
of each Cookie. Bake 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned.

Wow looks very nice Vrinda! Though I havent had these till now I can see that these are perfectly baked :) Feel like making these now but my hubby doesnt have a sweet tooth, rather, he prefers spicy/savoury snacks! Hence I'll have to eat 3/4th of what I make! Therefore I have saved your bookmarked desserts for a special occasion :)

I am a new bee... I have heard people in Alleppy say that they prepared cheeni and meen curry whereas those in Ernakulam, that they prepared kappa and meen curry...
