How To Cook Thai Jasmine Rice



A naturally aromatic, long grain white rice, jasmine rice is the staple of most Thai meals. It has got nice sweet and nutty flavor and  goes well with almost all Indian, Thai or Chinese curries. Its easy and quick to prepare and not very sticky. This recipe is adapted from the cookbook "Around The World In 450 Recipes ".




Ingredients

  • 2 cups jasmine rice
  • 3 cups cold water

Directions



Rinse the rice thoroughly at least three times in cold water until the water runs clear.Put the rice in a
heavy-based saucepan and add the water.Bring the rice to boil, uncovered, over a high heat. Stir and reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for up to 20 minutes.Remove from the heat and leave to stand for 10 minutes. Remove the lid and fluff up with fork to separate the grains.
