Healthy Oats Upma
There is no need to explain the health benefits of oats, its good for everything. It was not my favorite , but after delivery i was forced to eat oats and i slowly started liking it. Now i eat oats in different forms on daily basis. Today i am sharing an easy and quick upma recipe with oats.

Heat oil in a non stick pan. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds, when they crackle add curry leaves, red
chillies, onions, ginger and turmeric powder. Saute till onions turn almost brown, now add masala powder and oats. Slightly wet the oats by sprinkling salt water and cook covered .Stir in between to avoid sticking at the bottom. Sprinkle more water if oats get dry. Do not add too much water.Sprinkle lemon juice and garnish with coriander leaves and grated coconuts.

- 1 1/2 cups old fashioned oats
- 1 small onion , chopped
- 2 dry red chillies
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp ginger,grated
- 1/2 tsp masala of your choice, i used egg masala
- curry leaves, few
- coriander leaves, to garnish
- 1 tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
- salt, as needed
- 1 tbs coconut oil
- 1 tbs grated coconut
