How To make Croutons At Home / Homemade Croutons
Croutons are made from thin slices of bread , also known as Crostini are perfect for spreads, add nice crunch to hot soup , use on salads or munch it any time.
- 6 thin or thick slices French bread, cut into 1 inch cubes
- 1 1/2 tbs olive oil
- 1 1/2 tbs melted butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tbs Italian seasoning, use herbs of your choice
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Mix all the seasoning really well in a medium bowl or Ziploc bag. Add cubed bread slices to the butter mixture , close the bag and shake it until the bread slices are evenly coated. Arrange them on a cookie sheet, bake , shaking the pan once or twice, until golden about 10 minutes. Transfer to a plate and let cool. Add them to hot soup or use on a salad or simply munch as snack.
