Mathanga Pachadi / Pumpkin Pachadi / Pumpkins In Yogurt And Coconut Gravy








Mathan Pachadi / Pumpkin Pachadi

Ingredients
  • 1 cup pumpkins, chopped( any variety)
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup beaten yogurt
  • salt as needed
  • 2 green chillies
To Grind
  • 1/2  to 3/4 cup  grated coconuts
  • 2 green chillies
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 2 garlics,chopped

To Garnish
  • curry leaves, few
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seds
  • 1 tbs grated coconuts
  • 1 dry red chilli

Directions

Cook pumpkins with water  turmeric , green chiliies and salt, mash well and keep aside.To this add ground coconut paste. Add beaten yogurt and mix well. Adjust salt. Heat 2 tsp coconut oil in a pan ,splutter mustard seeds .Add all other seasoning ingredients and pour over pumpkin pachadi. Serve with rice as a side dish.
