Fish molly (Fish cooked in Coconut milk)


Ingredients
  • Fish fillets(preferably white fleshed) cut into small pieces -200 gram(about 8 ounce)
  • 1 large tomato - sliced
  • 2 to 3 green chillies - Slit lengthwise
  • 1/2 tbs turmeric powder
  • 4 to 5 shallots - sliced
  • curry leaves - As required
  • 1 inch piece ginger - chopped 
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 3 to 5 garlic cloves - chopped
  • 2 whole red chillies or red chilli powder
Directions


Cut the fish fillets into pieces, marinate with chilli powder and salt.Shallow fry till lightly golden on both sides, set aside.  Crush the red chilli with garlic and keep aside. Heat the oil in a pan and saute the green chillies, curry leaves and onions for 2-3 minutes. Then add the crushed garlic, red chillies and chopped ginger. Fry for few more minutes . To this add chopped tomatoes and cook covered for 3 minutes. Add coconut milk,turmeric powder and let it simmer, do not boil.Finally add the fish and salt and cook on a low flame for 5-6 minutes until the fish is fully cooked. Pour 1 tsp coconut oil over the curry.Garnish with curry leaves.
